Films Scans & Photography A-Level

This week is my first week doing A Levels
And I've loved every minute so far.
I am doing Art, Photography, Media Studies & English Literature.

I'm quite a way ahead with my Photography AS Level
as I started it early last year.
I developed my dark room skills and learnt the basics,
developed my first roll of film, etc.
I incorporated some of my developed film into my Art Coursework in the end.

Everything I've done in the dark room
Has been kept in my photogrpahy folder and hardly seen the light of day.
So I decided to scan in some of my photograms and pictures.
Some are better than others.
But I think it needs to be taken into account that
These were the first things I'd ever developed myself,
Going solo in my school's dark room.

As is always essential, these are so test strips I made in preparation.
Then I made three photograms.

Then I had to break for my GCSE exams,
and didn't go back in the dark room for a while.
But I did develop my own roll of film.

The first phot is my first that I developed from scratch.
It's very special to me.

Then I have not set foot in the dark room at all until yesterday
When I made these : )

Now that I'm finally back at school
And I can get my teeth really stuck into my courses,
Expect this blog to be much more active.

The Summer Return to Sugar Loaf Tunnel

My Dad suggested we go for a walk yesterday. He said that we hadn't been to the rainway tunnel in summer before, so why don't we go there. And so we did.

It was as amazing as usual.

Flickr

I've not posted anything on here in a while. It's quite shocking. I've hardly taken any photos this summer, other than when we were on holiday in the Pyrenees. I'm eager to get back into it, but I've got work to do and it's hard finding a good few hours when I can fit in a long walk with camera in tow.

Anyway, to help myself get back into the swing of these, I have set up a Flickr account. Check it out.

Hopefully, I'll update it with new photographs in the near future, as well as this blog.

France/Spain: The Pyrenees

On Monday afternoon I returned from a two-week holiday in the south of France. I won't tell you all about it here on account of setting up a blog just for it. You can view it here:

http://francespainthepyrenees.blogspot.com/

There are accounts of each day / few days, and there are a selection of pictures from each day on most of the entries. I won't blame you for not reading it, but the pictures may interest you! : D

Also, in September/October I have been asked in hold a exhibition of my photographs in Beverly in aid of building repairs for the St. Johns' Ambulance building new Tesco. I used to practice there with the Beverly Brass Band, but sadly I stopped going after it became too stressful ontop of work, school and other things. This is now a chance to give back and hopefully get myself some recognition.

Exciting times!

29/06/08: Radiohead

The other day, to celebrate the end of my GCSEs, I went to see Radiohead (with support from MGMT and Bat For Lashes) with my Dad at the LCCC in Manchester. It was amazing!

I was perhaps the most hated guy in there by the end. In a strange state of shock and excitment, I had my camera in the air the whole time and I took photo after photo after photo. I went completely trigger happy. I took 3.4 Gbs worth of photos, 200 of those have been uploaded to my MySpace and newly created Flickr account (although Flickr is not keen on them and has been regurgitating all but five of the photos for about an hour now). However, here is a handful of favourites.
